Jumpstart your student's college list

Get a customized, targeted college list from a college admission expert!

The College List Booster Package gives your 11th grader two video conference sessions, a college list informed by my experience, research and insight, and a follow-up data analysis of your final list this fall.

Junior year is an exciting time. Students are ready to think about their next steps, and they have enough self-knowledge to begin making decisions in the wide world of college options.

Walking into the college landscape for the first time, though, can be overwhelming.

There are great college and university options for every student who wants to pursue higher education. Experienced guidance can help you find them.

  • If you know a high school junior who doesn't know how to get started finding the best options for college,

  • if the noise of rankings, opinions, huge application numbers and changing policies has your family confused about how to proceed,

  • and/ or if the cost of comprehensive college consulting services is a little too much with tuition bills in the future,

here's a solution to get pointed in the right direction.

Experience, data, and a personalized approach.

What I bring to the conversation:

  • Insight from 20 years of building lists for students as Director of College Counseling at premier independent schools around the US and abroad, and as an independent consultant.

  • I have worked with just about every student interest and special circumstance. I’ve counseled dancers, engineers, recruited athletes, students who learn differently, artists, future physicians, writers, economists, musicians, coders, theater technicians and more.

  • My simplified “Quick and Dirty College List Builder” is used as a core resource by many independent counselors, and as a text in the University of California college counseling certificate program.

  • I've visited over 200 campuses around the world, and I am in frequent communication with decision-makers at colleges everywhere, as well as within a network of counselors with similar backgrounds to mine.

  • In making lists, I have access to research resources, online tools and databases, and I filter it all through my knowledge of what might be a good fit for the student, based on experience.

What's included in this package:
  • An online questionnaire to learn more about academic history, activities, and interests.

  • A 1-hour introductory meeting and interview (Scheduled at your convenience.)

  • An online survey to identify preferences.

  • Delivery of a list of at least 20 recommended colleges to research at varying levels of selectivity, but with a focus on “targets," where admission is possible but not guaranteed. (Merit scholarship potential can be a requested factor.)

  • A guide to researching effectively.

  • In August, I'll deliver a data analysis of the probability of the student's list in progress that predicts likelihoods based on 2023 applications, indicates whether or not to choose Test Optional application, suggests timelines for applying, and estimates financial aid potential.

  • A 1-hour final call to talk through the list and application strategy.

What I ask from you: engagement in our conversations and surveys, an open mind, and a willingness to research. I will only point you to institutions that I know can provide a quality educational experience! Discovery of new possibilities can make this journey exciting and enlightening for students and parents.

If you're finding it challenging to get started on a great college list, this is a chance to find some direction based on your student's record, your priorities, my experience and supporting data. This limited time offer for current 11th graders gives you the starting points and strategy to build a good fit final college application list at a great value.

The cost for this personalized, data-backed list,
built by an admission expert: $1500
